Welcoming Nicola Prevost our new Apprentice Application Analyst
Welcoming Nicola Prevost who has joined Mutual Vision as our new Apprentice Application Support Analyst.
We sat down with Nicola to get to know her and find out what appealed about working with MV and digital banking platforms.
What is your background? Where have you joined us from?
I am originally from Cambridge but moved to Lancaster in 2019 where I obtained an undergraduate degree in Criminology from Lancaster University. I then moved to Bristol for my master’s degree in Forensic Science from UWE which I have just completed, before finally settling in Manchester for the long term.
What appealed to you about working with digital banking platforms?
I have always been interested in technology, breaking into the field proved challenging due to my limited IT qualifications. While pursuing my degrees in criminology and forensic science I had the opportunity to learn about cybersecurity and financial crime. It was during this time that I became fascinated with digital forensics, an ever-evolving field which requires new solutions to new problems. Within the digital services sector, I discovered the ideal environment for me where there is room for innovation and constant learning which is where I truly thrive.
What appealed to you about working at Mutual Vision?
Mutual Vision is a company owned by its customers that works with its customers for mutual benefit. A company where the goal of the job is to help its customers is rare. I have found that a lot of jobs prioritise meeting targets over providing a level of care to their customers and that does not align with my values. Delivering digital solutions to financial institutions, enabling them to compete with big-name banks, instils a sense of ethical commitment. Because of their mutual ethos, working for Mutual Vision brings a genuine sense of fulfilment which I would otherwise struggle to find working for another company. As well as this, the company provides training opportunities which is something that appealed to me with my limited IT qualifications.
